Equilibrium Cafe and Shop – now servicing

Equilibrium cafe (10am to 4pm) and shop (9am to 6pm) are now open but not yet at full pelt.  The cafe will have hot drinks, scones, soup (all made in the kitchen by Bryony) and bread from Monday and some salads will be added from Tuesday. The Saturday Brunch looks mouth-watering!
Simple SaladThe breads will be from Breadshare at Whitmuir Farm, Lamancha.  They are slowly fermented, organic constituents with a local provenance.  We have also got some wonderful  bread in from Falko’s, Gullane, for the cafe.  Nice to have real bread to taste.
The meat is also organic,  from Whitmuir farm and we hope to have deliveries on a Wednesday or a Friday each week.
The shop will stock organic meats, slow-fermented breads and dairy products later in the week but the fish (from Belhaven Smokehouse) , eggs (from Knowes) and veggies (East Coast Organics) are in and need to be shifted since even organic veg is perishable! All that washing is worth it – even the kids noticed the better taste (of the veg not the mud!) And I have to say the Black and Gold cold-pressed rapeseed oil from Stevenson via Louise Elder is in a prime position.  The bottles look lovely in their chosen spot against a white background!
Pop round to take a look and while you are there please pick up a few leaflets from the clinic so we can fill all our classes and keep all our expert providers busy helping you cope with the bad weather and the 21st century! Please do pass the word on to friends, relatives and work-mates- seems to be the best way to get the news out.
Because we are new to the scene we do need feedback and advice – what you might like to see in the shop shelves, or on the cafe menu – bearing in mind we are trying to provide a staple, healthy and tasty diet to our palates.
Some photos will appear on the website and Facebook page in the next couple of days or so to entice you along.  ‘Ere too long we should have a temporary sail sign up at the entrance to guide you.  A sign at the road-end at Drem station would be ideal but it all takes time……!
Slainte.
